August 19, 2001 @ New England Dragway

Nostalgia Day

Today was a great day for dragracing in New Hampshire. We had an unbelievable turn out at the drags. There were about 10-15 front engine dragsters, about 8-10 Willys (I WAS EXCITED). Just ask everyone that was there. I couldn't stop talking about them. Poor Jerry was listening to me talk about them all day. There was a few other gasser cars there. I saw a 1940 Ford gasser, a couple of 1953 chevy gasser cars, one Anglia, and a Crossley in the show area. There was even a '55 Chevy gasser there.

Animal, Disgustin, and Ray were on hand racing for the Dominators today. I have to say that I was a bit surprised about how each of them ran. I just wasn't expecting the numbers to be as they were. I'll let them tell you guys what they did if they want to.

Ray beat his first competitor in a nice drag race. Animal (I think) cheated on his first round win. The way his car was raked made it look like it was going 100mph standing still, so the guy next to him jumped the gun. Jim unfortunatly broke out during his first run. HE went too fast.

Animal and Ray both met the same fate on their next runs. Buddy was excited because he said "It is better to run too fast and go home than to sandbag it for a trophy." There was a wheel stander up there. It was a 1933 Willys sedan delivery. There were also a couple of Fiats up there.

It was really a good day. I think we all had fun. The Dominators were represented by: Animal, Disgustin, Ray, Jerry, and myself. God help our club to get a good name with us.
