Cruising the Tree Recruitment Drive
Gentlemen, great job on the successful dry run of The Dominators Recruitment Drive to Curising the Tree. Things ran smooth as silk and we operated like a well oiled machine.
The plan was being executed with precision, with everyone decked out in the latest Dominators apparel. We looked like something that would be appropriate for the front cover of GQ. Thanks Glenn for setting us up with the latest Dominator appropriate fashion.
A few were smart enough to overlook the forecast; they brought their Street Rods that looked outstanding as always. Dave James ’39 has never looked better, and is now up to par with rest of the rides in his extensive stable.
Jack Brackett was loading up his Dominator Books and sales paraphernalia, ready for the hard sell & the quick close.
Clay had the Dominator recruiting fliers, with only 1 small typo, all boxed and ready for distribution.
Bob G. had some of his best jokes all set up for rapid fire to impress perspective applicants.
Glenn had applications, and was ready to sign up all those prospects who would be begging us to become new members.
Ralph was locked and loaded, even though I don’t know how he cracked the code on those extensive, elaborate, and detailed plans without a high powered computer.
Al, Jim, and Doug hooked up later, but up until the last minute, confidence was high, the forces seemed to be lining up & the plan was well in place, we were a little tense, yet primed and ready, except........
Thanks Kevin for the last minute save. The dam thing got cancelled. Well, anyway, its history now and only a memory, guess it’s time to let go, and move on.
Fortunately, they are expecting us, and the re-run is all set for Wed., September 5th. Same plan, same place, Dunkin Donuts in Burlington, between 2:00 and 2:30pm and, what with the prototype run under our belts, this time it should be an even bigger success. Thanks again for everyone's participation. See you on September 5th.
Fast forward to September 5th. The freeekin' thing got cancelled again. Well the 5th has come & gone. Maybe an omen. Oh well.
Thanks again for everyone's support,
Clay
